SCOTTSDALE, AZ - A Scottsdale restaurant has agreed to pay more than $248,000 to three employees to settle a settle a sexual harassment lawsuit. The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission brought the suit in April 2007 against Fleming's Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar, located in DC Ranch. Filed in U.S. District Court in Phoenix, the suit claimed that a male chef at the upscale restaurant groped three male employees and that several of Fleming's managers were aware of the harassment but failed to stop it. EEOC officials announced Tuesday that Fleming's -- owned by a Florida-based restaurant group -- agreed to pay the three men a total of $248,750. Company officials say Fleming's "settled the matter without admitting liability to avoid the distraction of continued litigation." They also say the company is committed to a workplace free of harassment and has appropriate oversight and training in place for prevention.
